In 2022, during a dinner with her uncle, they discussed the idea of utilising forestry waste to create biodegradable plant pots, which she then developed further for a Girl-Boss business competition. Eighteen-year-old Elisa Harley from Pōneke, Wellington, is the visionary founder behind Enivo Pots. Enivo Pots is a range of biodegradable plant pots made from underutilised primary industry plant residue in Aotearoa.

While completing her final year at Wellington Girls’ College, Elisa has been passionately developing Enivo Pots through the Lion Foundation and Young Enterprise Scheme. She has dedicated most of her personal time to this innovative business. Supported by funding from AGMARDT, the Perpetual Guardians and The King's Trust, she has spent her school holidays in Rotorua working closely with a team at Scion to refine the product. Elisa’s dedication and innovative approach aim to revolutionize the gardening industry by offering sustainable alternatives and reducing plastic waste. Enivo Pots not only contribute to environmental conservation but also inspire young entrepreneurs in New Zealand.
